25 Days of Christmas Memories- December 9

Another favorite memory I have is the year most of my family went to get Christmas trees. We all went on our 4-wheelers and were in snow waist deep up the canyon. One tree collapsed in the forest- they do make a sound- a BIG CRASHING sound. My aunt Stacy found the perfect tree. We all found great trees. It was a cold ride. We saw a flock of wild turkey's (the first time I had ever seen them). We all had fun playing in the snow and Ben ended up with a frozen mustache. After we all found our trees, we headed down the canyon. The fish and game workers found us at the bottom of the canyon and confinscated Stacy's perfect tree and all our other trees except one. They suggested that we pick a juniper instead. We hadn't cut any trees illegally in the area the guys were just being jerks. They had the whole creek full of trees and had apparently been stealing trees all day. My cousins went back up that night to "steal" back our trees because they were legal, and they were all gone. Suspisions arose and came to the conclusion that perhaps the workers were moonlighting a tree lot in the nearby city and selling all our perfect confinscated trees. Ben and I went back up the next weekend and found us a cute little tree. The rest of the family bought artificial trees-what a bummer!
